The Marató dels Dements is still months away, yet the 2026 edition is already generating exceptional anticipation across the Serra d’Espadà. Just hours after registration opened, the Mitja d’Aín sold out all available bibs, and the Marathon is also nearing full capacity. Once again, the event confirms its unique appeal within the international skyrunning scene.

This year, however, carries special significance. Dements enters the third and final year as host of the Skymasters of the Merrell Skyrunner® World Series, at a time when the global circuit is experiencing unprecedented growth—both in media impact and competitive intensity.

A More Open and Spectacular Skymasters Than Ever

The 2026 Merrell Skyrunner® World Series is shaping up to be one of the most demanding and unpredictable seasons in recent memory. The tight competition among top contenders, the rising international level, and the emergence of new talent are elevating the stakes race after race.

According to the Dements organizing team, the season finale is expected to be one of the most exciting Skymasters editions to date. Moreover, many world‑class athletes who do not regularly compete in the Sky circuit are likely to join the second half of the season with the clear objective of fighting for a place in the grand finale in Eslida and Aín.

This scenario positions the 2026 edition as a true global summit of elite skyrunning in the heart of the Serra d’Espadà.

More Than Just a Race

“We are skyrunning, and we always will be. We have lived up to expectations without fear, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world’s top races and adding value to the circuit without losing our focus: showcasing our villages and demonstrating the strength of our mountains,” the organizers state proudly.

Dements was not born from large structures, but from the passion of a humble club, a group of friends, and the unwavering support of two villages fully committed to their race. This identity has allowed the event to maintain its authenticity even after becoming one of the most iconic stages of the international circuit.

Over the years, Eslida and Aín have welcomed some of the best mountain runners on the planet, creating unforgettable moments for the global skyrunning community. Beyond the sporting impact, Dements believes it has achieved something even more meaningful: elevating the Serra d’Espadà, its trails, its traditions, and the deep sense of belonging shared by its people.

The Strength of #JoSócDement

The rapid sell‑out of the Mitja d’Aín once again highlights the emotional connection between the event and its participants. Dements has built a strong community around a very specific vision of mountain running: technical, demanding, and authentic.

This spirit has shaped the #JoSócDement movement, now a defining symbol within the Spanish trail‑running landscape.

With the Marathon also approaching full capacity and expectations rising for one of the most spectacular Skymasters in recent years, the Serra d’Espadà is already preparing to once again take center stage in the world of skyrunning.
