Camera and Legs: Experiencing Dements from the Inside

10 de September de 2025

There are many ways to describe what Dements is. You can look at the elevation profiles, the ascent data, or the hours runners spend on the trails of the Serra d’Espadà. But none of this fully conveys the toughness, the emotion, and the beauty that this race holds.

The friends at Mountains Eye (@MountainsEye) have shared a very special video with us: a race-side follow, camera in hand and heart racing. A piece of work that shows not only the strength, skill, and endurance of our runners, but also the incredible merit of the camera runners, able to run almost at the same pace to capture every moment up to the finish line.

The Marató dels Dements is not just a race; it is a tribute to the mountain, to the demanding course, and to all the local people who fully commit to making the event possible, as well as to the volunteers who take part. Each edition is an example of community, effort, and shared passion.

This video reminds us why Dements is different: because of the rugged trails, the peaks that seem never-ending, the faces full of struggle and joy, and above all the quality of the runners who tackle every kilometer with courage, and the perspective of those filming it, allowing us to relive it all.

If you still have doubts about what it means to be Dements, watch the video. And get ready: once you see it, there’s no turning back.
